WSET Level 2 Award in Wines Online
Melbourne Wine School is proud to offer the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wines in an online format.
This is an online course with the examination taking place in person on a date to be confirmed once government restrictions allow.
The course provides a structured learning environment to introduce you to the major grape varieties and international wine standards. There is a focus on European wine styles, so it's perfect for anyone looking to broaden their horizons and gain an international appreciation of wine.

This is an online course with the examination taking place in person, on a date to be confirmed once government restrictions allow. You will receive tutoring through the course by an approved WSET and Melbourne Wine School educator.
The course will be run as 4 x 4 hour sessions over 4 consecutive weeks, with the exam in person when restrictions allow. The WSET Level 2 courses consist of a minimum of 16 hours of tuition. An addition 11 hours of personal study and revision is recommended.
Wine samples are provided to all students.
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines will teach you about the fundamentals of the world of wine, covering topics such as:
How wine is made;
The major white and black grape varieties and the major wine-producing regions in the world;
How to read and understand wine labels;
How to describe wine (tasting);
Pairing food and wine;
An introduction to sweet and fortified wines.
Please note that the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines builds on the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines, however you don't need to have completed the WSET Level 1 Award to sit the Level 2 course.
Students will sit a closed-book, multiple choice exam consisting of 50 questions. This exam will be sat in the final session of the course. The examination will take place in person, and on a date to be confirmed one restrictions allow.
Successful completion of the exam will lead to the internationally recognised WSET Level 2 Award in Wines.
You must be 18 to participate in this course. There are no other requirements for entry.
Course days will be online.
Important: You must be able to attend the course venue in order to sit the examination.
