Provence:

Provence is the oldest wine producing region in France and has been making wine here for over 2500 years. Historically specialising in rosé, Provence is sprawled along the Mediterranean coast where it lies in between the Rhone River on one side, and the Cote d’Azur on the other. It has a wonderful old wine-growing history with its vines stretching out over vast ever-changing landscapes, around historic cities, on the Mediterranean coast and into the hinterland.

When we think about the region of Provence, there are a few things that come to mind right away such as sunny days, lavender fields, olive trees and of course, lots of wine, especially rosé. There really is no doubt that the epicentre of rosé production is here in Provence, where it is known for its dry and delicate taste with a light orange-tinted pink colour made from grapes such as Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Syrah.

This class is eye opening for rosé wine lovers and a must for wine pros and those studying for certification exams so come and explore Provence and its wonderful long and varied history, and try some fantastic styles of Rose along the way.
